Presented By:

Diane Ceo-DiFrancesco, Ph.D., Chair, Department of Classics and Modern Languages; Professor of Spanish and Teacher Education; Coordinator of Spanish Major and Minor Program

About This Webinar:

Language instructors may consider Intercultural competence and global citizenship as challenging goals at beginning and intermediate levels of language instruction. However, despite students’ developing proficiency, instructors can successfully incorporate intercultural competence and global citizenship into language courses through accessible activities, authentic materials, guided discussion and critically reflecting on one’s own cultural perspectives.

The session will highlight strategies for facilitating learners’ growth by recognizing cultural perspectives, questioning assumptions, and developing the skills and dispositions necessary for effective intercultural communication.
