David Rogers currently serves as the Executive Director for Dual Language Education of New Mexico where his reputation as a national leader in the dual language community has given him the opportunity to work with respected national researchers, educators, policy leaders, and partner organizations. In his 30-year educational career, David has served as an education volunteer and program coordinator for the Peace Corps in Paraguay, South America, a bilingual special education teacher in South Bronx, NY, and as a dual language classroom teacher, bilingual program coordinator, and school principal in the South Valley of Albuquerque.  In 1996 David and his colleagues organized the first La Cosecha Dual Language Conference, which will celebrate its 25-year anniversary in 2020! As an advocate for culturally and linguistically diverse communities, David currently serves on the management team for the Transform Education New Mexico Coalition and as past chair of the NM Hispanic Education Advisory Council. David has received several prestigious honors for his work, including la Orden de Isabel la Católica, from the King of Spain in 2013, the Promoting Bilingualism award from the Association for Two-Way, Dual Language Education in 2014, and the Earl Nunn Recognition from the New Mexico Coalition for Educational Leadership in 2017.

David is husband to dual language educator Rosie González-Rogers. Together they have four bilingual/multicultural daughters and call Albuquerque, New Mexico their home.

Ruth Kriteman serves as Lead Editor for Dual Language Education of New Mexico. She oversees DLeNM’s publishing arm, Fuente Press, editing professional books as well as the quarterly newsletter, Soleado. A 42-year veteran teacher of K-12 public education from Maryland to California and Tennessee to Washington State, she has specialized in ESL and dual language education throughout her career, working with students from Latin America, South East Asia, Ukraine, and Romania. Ruth is a Tier IV Project GLAD® trainer, a certified Literacy Squared® trainer and an Adjunct Professor in the Language, Literacy and Socio-Cultural  Studies Department of the University of New Mexico where she has taught ESL Methods for the last 20 years.

Ruth is originally from Guadalajara, Mexico and had the great fortune of spending her high school years attending the American School of Madrid in Spain where her father served as headmaster. Later, she lived for a time in Neuchâtel, Switzerland where she perfected her French. After so much traveling, she is delighted to set down roots in the Land of Enchantment. She transferred her love of travel and living abroad to her older son who has lived and worked in Stockholm, Sweden and Kyiv, Ukraine, and her love of New Mexico to her younger son who is happy to stay put in Albuquerque.
