Megan Budke is a teacher and leader at Wayzata Public Schools in Minnesota, where she teaches middle school Spanish and serves as a world language curriculum coordinator. Her work focuses on improving world language programs through proficiency-based curriculum design and assessment practices. She regularly presents at state, regional, and national conferences, and is serving as the 2020 President of the Minnesota Council on the Teaching of Languages and Cultures (MCTLC). She is passionate about proficiency, standards-based grading practices, and social justice.

Karen Nickel is currently serving as a Peer Coach in the Wayzata Public Schools. Karen has taught for 32 years with experience in German and ELL in adult, elementary, junior and mostly in senior high education, leading efforts aligning curriculum and equitable grading, integrating technology, personalizing learning, incorporating social-emotional learning and social justice curriculum, promoting intercultural competence, and facilitating student exchanges. She currently serves as the 2020 president-elect of the Minnesota Council on the Teaching of Languages and Cultures.
